Dupe File Check
Checking directories for duplicate files
Will scan a single directory or 2 different directories and provides a time estimate for particularly large directories. When the scan is complete, a list of all duplicates will be shown. Double clicking this list will jump to the 'containing folder' in Windows Explorer. Uses some optimization tricks and multiple threads to make this run faster on large directories.
Suggested Use Cases:
- Cleanp working directories
- Depending on your personal work process, you may keep multiple copies of files in separate locations until you have finished with your task. This tool can be useful to determine what files already exist in the working directory.
- Organizing backups
- You may have a designated folder for staging backups or copies from. This tool can be useful to determine what files have already been copied from the staging area to the final location.
Uses Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.1. This is installed on Windows 8 and 10 by default. Windows XP, 7, and Vista will require an upgrade.
